Celtic star Nir Bitton will stay with the Bhoys this summer, according to reports.
The Glasgow Evening Times claim that the the 24-year-old, who has been linked with a move away from Parkhead, will now stay on in Scotland.
The Glasgow giants are said to have wanted £10million for Bitton, a fee that has so far proved too much for potential suitors Espanyol.
The report says that after no club has matched Celtic’s valuation of the former F.C Ashdod player and, coupled with his solid performances in Celtic’s pre-season training camp in Slovenia, he will now play a part in the Hoops bid to secure their sixth SPL title in a row.
The defensive midfielder has been with Celtic since 2013 and has featured in over 100 games in all competitions since then, earning himself three Scottish Premiership medals in that time.
The Israeliinternational has been a regular in his national side since breaking through the youth levels and is contracted to his club side until 2020.
In the wake of Rodgers’ appointment, Bitton expressed his desire to prove himself to the new manager rather than leave the club.
The Bhoys will face Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar in the second qualifying round of the Champions League tomorrow night as they begin their campaign to reach the finals of the tournament.
