Football Insider looks ahead to the clash at Stamford Bridge between Chelsea and Swansea, as the defending champions kick off their title defence.

KICK-OFF TIME: Saturday, 5.30pm

TV: Live on Sky Sports 1, highlights on BBC1

IT’S A BIG GAME FOR…

Radamel Falcao. Has Jose Mourinho seen something invisible to the rest of us or has the all-powerful Jorge Mendes, the agent of both men, pulled a rabbit out of the hat for his Colombian client by getting the once-feared striker a move that his form at Manchester United barely warranted? Last season, Falcao looked a shadow of his former self but will aim to show he can once again be a player who sends tremors through opposition defences. He is likely to start on the bench against Swansea, even if Diego Costa fails to overcome his latest hamstring problem.

PLAYER TO WATCH…

Andre Ayew. The most exciting of Swansea’s summer additions could prove to be yet another triumph for one of the Premier League’s canniest clubs in the transfer market. The Ghanian has calibre, relative youth and the raw materials to unzip well organised back lines. His pace and trickery could trouble the occasionally impetuous Ivanovic.

PAST THREE MEETINGS…

Premier League: Swansea 0 Chelsea 5 (Oscar 2, Costa 2, Schürrle), January 2015

Premier League: Chelsea 4 (Costa 3, Remy) Swansea 2 (Terry OG, Shelvey), September 2014

Premier League: Swansea 0 Chelsea 1 (Ba), April 2014

REMEMBER WHEN…

Frustrated by time-wasting from a ball boy, Eden Hazard delivered a sharp kick in an attempt to dislodge the ball from beneath the youngster during Chelsea’s Capital One Cup semi-final defeat at Swansea in January 2013.
