Chris Sutton aimed a dig at Kris Boyd after Celtic beat Partick Thistle 1-0 on Monday night to open up a 14 point gap on rivals Rangers.

Former Gers striker Kris Boyd previously stated that he doesn’t believe the gap between the two Old Firm rivals is as big as everyone is making out to be – comments which were quickly shutdown by Sutton.

Here is the exchange between Boyd and Sutton from last Friday as posted on BT Sport’s official Twitter account.

But after Scott Sinclair scored the only goal of the game as Brendan Rodgers side maintained their unbeaten run in the league, Bhoys legend Sutton couldn’t help himself, but aim a dig  at Boyd on his personal Twitter account.

Rodgers men have played the Gers on two occasions this season, once in the Scottish Premiership and then in the Scottish League Cup semi-final.

The Bhoys ran out convincing winners in both matches, first defeating their rivals 5-1 in September, before knocking them out of the Cup competition with a dominant display.

This has resulted in the Scottish Champions remaining unbeaten in all domestic competitions this term, as they recorded their 12th win on the bounce in the league, when they beat bottom club Partick Thistle.

The duo are set to meet once again, this time on December 31 at Ibrox, with Mark Warburton’s side will be looking to avenge those two defeats from earlier on in the campaign.

In other Celtic news, supporters on Twitter believe they have unearthed their next star after the Partick Thistle win.
