Chris Sutton has stated that he believes Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong deserves a place in the team ahead of Nir Bitton.
The former Hoops star forward ran a Q&A on his personal Twitter account ahead of Celtic’s clash against Borussia Moenchengladbach on Tuesday evening.
One fan asked who Sutton would pick between Armstrong and Bitton to play in Celtic’s midfield and the now BT Sport pundit stated that he favoured Armstrong between the pair.
Armstrong, 24, moved to the Hoops from Dundee United in the 2015 winter window.
He has made 15 appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ team this season in all competitions scoring two goals.
Meanwhile, Bitton, 25, completed a move to Celtic Park from Israeli outfit FC Ashdod in the summer of 2013.
He has played twice more than Amstrong with 17 appearances this season, but he has remained goalless.
Celtic are currently bottom of their Champions League Group C with just one point from their opening three fixtures.
Moenchengladbach are their nearest competitors in third place with three points, while Manchester City sit ahead in second with four points.
La Liga giants Barcelona are currently dominating the group with three wins from their three matches and they sit at the top five points clear with nine points.
In other Celtic news, this defender has also been ruled out of the Hoops clash in Germany.
