Outspoken pundit and former Celtic man Chris Sutton applauded Hibernian on Twitter after their win over Rangers, including a picture of Neil Lennon with his hands to his ears.

The newly promoted Premiership club achieved victory over the Glasgow giants at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon with a James Tavernier own goal alongside efforts from both Simon Murray and Vykintas Slivka cancelling out efforts from Tavernier and Alfredo Morelos.

The 3-2 victory would have meant a lot to many of the current Hibernian team with names such as Anthony Stokes and Efe Ambrose, who have previously played for Celtic.

However, given his 14 years spent at the Hoops the win possibly meant the most for manager Lennon and Sutton seemingly joined in via his personal Twitter account on Saturday evening, posting “I think Neil Lennon enjoyed today.”

Rangers will have been disappointed with their defeat on the second day of their league campaign after kicking off with a 2-1 victory over Motherwell before then achieving a dominant 6-0 victory over Dunfermline in midweek.

The loss has seen them slip down to sixth place in the Premiership table and they will be hoping for a swift return to winning ways in next Saturday’s Ibrox clash against eighth placed Hearts.
