Chris Sutton has claimed Celtic have “inspired” Premier League teams in how to play against Manchester City following their 2-0 defeat at Tottenham on Sunday.
The Scottish champions drew 3-3 with the Etihad club on Wednesday night in their Champions league encounter at Celtic Park.
Four days later, City lost out to Spurs at White Hart Lane in what was the first defeat this season for Pep Guardiola’s side.
But their 100 per cent winning record had come to an end against Celtic at Parkhead. Former Barcelona manager Guardiola had won ten games on the bounce in all competitions, before Brendan Rodgers’ side stopped their winning run.
Ex-Celtic striker Sutton believes his former club have shown the path on how to play against the former Champions League winning boss.
Here is Sutton responding to Mauricio Pochettino inflicting the first defeat on Guardiola’s side.
“Looks like Celtic have inspired teams on how to play against Peps men,” Sutton wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Four days later, Mauricio Pochettino’s men scored two first half strikes via Aleksandar Kolarov’s own goal and Dele Alli low drive to end City 100 % record in the Premier League.
In other Celtic news, TV pundit Robbie Savage makes an emphatic claim about Celtic’s stature.
