Chris Sutton believes Arsenal forward Theo Walcott was “woeful” for England as they lumbered to a 0-0 draw against Slovenia on Tuesday night.
Gareth Southgate’s men were lucky to leave Ljubljana with a point following their 2-0 win against lowly Malta in their previous World Cup qualifying fixture on Saturday.
Walcott played 62 minutes in Slovenia before he was substituted for Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend, but produced a poor display in front of goal.
Former Celtic striker Sutton was unimpressed by the Three Lions performance, in particular of Walcott, but did praise goalkeeper Joe Hart.
“Bravo Joe Hart sensational for England,” Sutton wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Walcott woeful. Lingard ineffective. Southgate should’ve subbed earlier. England lucky tonight.”

Walcott’s form on the international stage, contrasts his performances for Arsenal this season, where he has scored three goals in seven appearances.
As a result, Arsene Wenger’s side have recorded 16 points from seven games and notched up five wins on the bounce in all competitions.
The north London club will be looking to continue that fine form, when they host Bob Bradley’s Swansea on Saturday afternoon.
