Christian Ziege believes Tottenham will reignite their Champions League campaign against Monaco on Tuesday night with three crucial points.

Spurs’ European hopes are currently hanging in the balance, as they sit outside Group E’s qualification places for the knockout stages.

But former Spurs star Ziege, who played for the North London outfit between 2001 and 2004, predicted on his personal Twitter account that his old side would secure a 2-1 win.

Spurs could move on to level points with second placed Bayer Leverkusen with win against Monaco, after the German outfit drew 1-1 with CSKA Moscow in Russia.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be boosted by the return of Harry Kane, who scored a superb brace in the dying moments of Spurs’ London derby against West Ham on Saturday to snatch all three points away from their London rivals in a 3-2 win.

Tottenham will be looking for revenge against Leonardo Jardim’s side, after the Group E leaders won the reverse fixture back in September with a 2-1 victory.

A win for Spurs could see them move into second in the group, but will be aware that finishing third in the group will see the North London outfit qualify for the Europa League.

During his three-year stay at White Hart Lane, former Germany international Ziege scored 10 goals in 55 league and cup encounters after spells with Middlesbrough and Liverpool.

In other Tottenham news, these three players will look to stamp their influence on Tuesday night’s clash.
