Coleen Rooney suffers Twitter break-down after radio incident

Coleen Rooney, wife of Manchester star Wayne Rooney, has taken to Twitter after listening in to a radio phone-in in which fans criticised the England forward.

Rooney, 30, featured for the Three Lions in their 2-0 win against Malta on Saturday but was booed by the Wembley crowd.

Coleen was understood to be especially frustrated with critics ringing in to slate the striker, as she was listening with the couple’s six year-old son Kai.

Rooney was recently dropped by club manager Jose Mourinho and is now expected to lose his national place against Slovenia on Tuesday.

England have made the perfect start to their World Cup qualification campaign having already picked up two wins from two games in group F.

Rooney, who remains captain of Gareth Southgate’s squad, is England all-time record goalscorer with 53 strikes for his country.

The forward has struggled this season though, scoring just one goal and providing four assists in 10 matches.
