Stan Collymore believes Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez should be a “last resort” to play up top for Arsenal this season.
Broadcaster Collymore provided his quarter-term report on the north London club, giving them a rating of seven out of ten.
Forward Sanchez has been utilised up top by manager Arsene Wenger this campaign, having previously been used on the left flank by the Frenchman.
But, despite the Chilean’s blistering start to the 2016/17 Premier League campaign, Collymore explained why the Gunners need to find another option in strike.
“I still feel that the lack of a top quality finisher will hurt Arsenal,” Collymore wrote in his Boyle Sports column. “Sanchez is a great player but really should be a last resort to play up top.”
Sanchez has scored six goals in ten games for Wenger’s side this season, supplying four assists in the forward role.
The Chile international scored a brace against Sunderland on Saturday afternoon, as Arsenal ran out 4-1 winners against the rock-bottom north east club.
As a result the Gunners are second in the league table, with 23 points from ten games, with only goal difference separating the top three.
In other Arsenal team news, Alan Shearer has stated why this Gunners legend is one of the best players he faced during his career.
