Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been recalled to the Arsenal team as Arsene Wenger makes one change for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth.
The attacking midfielder is handed a rare start as he replaces Joel Campbell from the team that drew 0-0 against Southampton in midweek.
Gabriel is preferred once again to Per Mertesacker, while Mathieu Flamini is given the nod over Francis Coquelin, who made his comeback in the FA Cup win over Burnley last weekend, playing 71 minutes of the Gunners’ 2-1 win.
Theo Walcott once again has to settle for a place on the substitute’s bench following a spell of poor form.
In the absence of Coquelin and Santi Cazorla over the last two months, Flamini and Aaron Ramsey have been the first-choice central midfield partnership.
Arsenal have failed to score in their last three league matches and have slipped down the table to fourth place, eight points adrift of leaders Leicester with one match in hand.
Arsenal: Cech; Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal; Flamini, Ramsey; Sanchez, Ozil, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Giroud. Subs: Ospina, Gibbs, Gabriel, Coquelin, Campbell, Walcott, Mertesacker.
