Jordan Ayew misses out as Ross McCormick is included in the Aston Villa starting XI as they prepare to face Wolves on Saturday evening.

Steve Bruce’s first team selection is a bold one, as he makes four changes to the side which faced Preston earlier this month.

Ayew was overlooked despite appearing in every game for his club this season whilst McCormick makes his eighth start of the campaign.

Villa have won nine and lost just one of their last 14 league games against Wolves but are struggling in the Championship so far this season.

They currently sit in 19th position and have picked up more cards than any other team in the league.

Bruce will be hoping to turn things around at Villa during his first game in charge, as his side have won just one of their opening 11 fixtures.

In other Aston Villa news, Dion Dublin has claimed all the pressure is on this senior figure at the club.
