Aston Villa Under-23s will take on Valencia, Celtic and Norwich in the Premier League international cup, it was announced on Wednesday.
Villa revealed on their official website that the Midlands side are in Group E, as they prepare to host the La Liga giants, Scottish Champions and travel to Norfolk.
Villa are taking part in a competition where the top 12 academies in England compete against the top 12 development sides in Europe.
Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven, La Liga side Atletico Bilbao and Portuguese duo Benfica and Porto will represent some of the European teams.
The likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton will look to show off their young talents, alongside Europe’s elite with the competition kicking off in October.
Kevin McDonald is in charge of Villa’s development squad, as they lost 1-0 to Wolverhampton Wanderers in their league opener on Tuesday.
Versatile midfielder Jordan Lyden, 20 is part of that group, as the Australian has already made his senior debut.
Striker Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, 17 will be relied upon to get the goals, as the teenager is the club’s youngster ever Premier League player.
Villa’s youngsters kick-off their campaign on October 5 against Valencia at Villa Park, before hosting Scottish giants Celtic on November 9, before rounding off their group stage fixtures with a trip to Norwich on December 5.
