Marco Silvestri has been recalled to the Leeds team for their League Cup quarter-final clash against Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night.

The Italian goalkeeper has been given the nod ahead of regular goalkeeper Rob Green, who drops down to the bench.

Leading scorer Chris Wood is also omitted from the starting XI to face Liverpool, with Souleymane Doukara selected to spearhead the attack.

In total, Leeds manager Garry Monk has made four changes to the side that beat Rotherham in the Championship on Saturday.

Silvestri, Stuart Dallas, Ronaldo Vieira and Gaetano Berardi replace Green, Wood, Kalvin Phillips and Luke Ayling.

Pontus Jansson is a surprise omission from matchday squad after serving a one-match suspension against Rotherham at the weekend.

Liam Cooper retains his place at the heart of the defence alongside Bartley, who has been an ever present for the team this season.

Silvestri gets the chance to repeat his heroics from the last round of the League Cup, when he saved a series of spot-kicks in the penalty shoot-out triumph over Championship rivals Norwich.

In other Leeds team news, the club are rumoured to be lining up this Championship striker.
