Liverpool have named two strikers in their team to face Southampton on Sunday as Divock Origi joins Daniel Sturridge up front.

As revealed by Football Insider on Saturday evening, Roberto Firmino misses the Premier League clash at St Mary’s Stadium with a hamstring injury.

Jurgen Klopp has made three changes in total to the side that drew 1-1 at Manchester United on Thursday night, with James Milner (suspended) and Jordan Henderson (illness) replaced by Jon Flanagan and Joe Allen.

Flanagan has been handed the honour of captaining Liverpool for the first time, just two days after penning a new three-year contract with his boyhood club.

Flanagan takes the armband from skipper Henderson, who is on the bench for the 1.30pm kick-off.

Vice-captain James Milner is also sidelined as he serves a one-match suspension for the red card he collected against Crystal Palace a fortnight ago.

It promises to be a proud afternoon for Academy graduate Flanagan, who returns to the side after being ineligible for the Europa League showdown with Manchester United.
