Christian Eriksen returned to the Tottenham starting XI to face Gillingham on Wednesday night in the EFL Cup after being dropped to the bench in their 1-0 win over Sunderland on Sunday.
Mauricio Pochettino has made 11 changes to the Spurs side that beat the Black Cats at the weekend, with centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers, 18, and Harry Winks, 20, handed their full debuts.
Carter-Vickers will start at the heart of defence alongside Kevin Wimmer, with Ben Davies and Kieran Tripper also starting at the back.
Michel Vorm starts in goal in place of the club’s regular keeper Hugo Lloris, with Erik Lamela also in the starting XI.
Vincent Janssen starts in attack after star striker Harry Kane injured his ankle at the weekend, with no time frame given over his injury.
The club’s academy gradate Marcus Edwards who was compared to Lionel Messi by his Argentine manager starts on the bench.

Pochettino’s side sit in third in the Premier League table with eleven points from their opening five games, as they take on Gillingham who are 13th in League One.
