Liverpool defender Sam Hart has joined Port Vale on a season-long loan, it was announced on Thursday afternoon.

The Merseysiders confirmed on their official website that the 19-year-old had agreed a move to the League One side.

Hart, who has been with the Reds since the 2012-13 campaign, regularly features for Michael Beale’s Under-23s team.

Now he will spend the 2016-17 campaign with Port Vale, who have claimed two victories from four league games and host Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

Hart, who featured for Liverpool in a pre-season friendly against Mainz this summer, becomes the Valiants’ 15th signing of the summer.

Jurgen Klopp gave him his non-competitive debut when he came on after 61 minutes, replacing Alberto Moreno.

Vale boss Bruno Ribeiro has overhauled Vale’s squad since taking over from Rob Page in the summer.

The Portuguese was personally recommend to chairman Norman Smurthwaite by Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

Experienced ace Adam Yates is expected to be sidelined for most of the season and summer arrival Kiko is not match fit.

In other Liverpool transfer news, talks are underway in France to clinch a landmark attacker deal.
