Jose Mourinho is heading back to the San Siro this weekend, Inter Milan have confirmed.

The Italian club’s honorary president Massimo Moratti has revealed that the Portugese will be in the stands on Saturday night for the visit of Sampdoria.

It comes as Mourinho has reached an agreement with Manchester United to become their new manager at the end of the season.

Moratti said: “I think Mourinho will be at San Siro on Saturday evening. A gift for the fans? It’s him who likes to come to Milan.

“He’s in the history of the Nerazzurri and his presence further strengthens the club. We’d scheduled a lunch either here or in London, and we took the opportunity of the Sampdoria match to see each other.”

The Portugese will become the next United manager after sealing a three-year contract worth £48million.

A United source has told Football Insider that a deal is in place for Mourinho to take over at Old Trafford in the summer despite growing calls from supporters for him to take over from Louis van Gaal immediately.
