The famous Midlands side currently sit in a disappointing 18th place in the league, with just one win from their last eight fixtures in all competitions.
Montanier will be keen for his side to turn around their poor form with his job also coming under question with owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi not shy of sacking a manager.
They face a tough test against Birmingham, who are currently sat in sixth place and vying for a spot in the Championship play-offs.
Gary Rowett’s men won their most recent clash against Birmingham and they will be keen to keep their run going against a struggling Forest team.
In other Nottingham Forest team news, Montanier believes that striker Ben Brereton can follow in the footsteps of Oliver Burke.
