Tottenham target Franco Vazquez has joined Sevilla for a reported £12.5million.
Spurs have been on the trail of the playmaker this summer, but the Spanish club have won the race for his signature.
Sevilla announced the deal via their website and social media accounts, saying the player has already met up with the squad in Orlando.
The Italian impressed last season as he grabbed eight goals and six assists in his 36 appearances for Palermo.
The 27-year-old also picked up the accolade for Serie A top assist provider during the 2014-15 season to enhance his reputation across Europe.
The player was with Palermo from 2012 and in that time has racked up over 100 appearances.
He was rewarded by newly appointed Chelsea boss Antonio Conte for his performances in Serie A, when he was called up to the Italian national side in 2015.Vazquez seemed destined to join Sevilla last week, when he spoke about the possibility of joining this summer.
He told Spanish publication El Crack Deportivo: “I know they [Palermo and Sevilla] have been talking and in the coming days my future will be resolved.
“Sevilla are a very important club, who have won the Europa League and play Champions League football, so it would be nice to go there – but they are rumours and until something is signed I can not say anything.”
In other Tottenham transfer news, they face competition from Pep Guardiola for a £15million wonderkid.
