Tottenham have made 10 changes to their starting XI for Tuesday’s League Cup showdown against Liverpool.

Eric Dier is the only player who keeps his place in the team as manager Mauricio Pochettino has given breathers to most of the team that drew 0-0 against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.

Rookie quartet Harry Winks, Joshua Onomah, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Georges Kevin-Nkoudou all start for Spurs at Anfield due to the team’s hectic fixture schedule.

Spurs, who are managing the triple demands of Premier League, Champions League and League Cup fixtures, fielded a team filled with fringe and academy players for their third-round 5-0 demolition of Gillingham last month.

Pochettino has opted for a similar team as Winks, 20, and Carter-Vickers, 18, make only their second starts, summer signing N’Koudou, 21, is handed his full debut and Onomah, 19, only his sixth start.

The youngsters are joined by squad players Michael Vorm, Kieran Trippier, Kevin Wimmer, Ben Davies, Tom Carroll and Vincent Janssen, as well as England international Dier, who captains the team.

Liverpool currently sit third in the Premier League table, a point and two places better off than Tottenham.

In other Tottenham team news, Pochettino has revealed a Spurs playmaker will be sidelined until nearly Christmas.
