Paul Lambert has confirmed that Ivan Cavaleiro will be available for the clash against Aston Villa on Saturday evening.
The 23-year-old attacker missed his sides 2-1 FA Cup win against Premier League side Stoke at the weekend because of a slight knee problem.
He will now return for the local derby against Midlands rivals Villa with Lambert taking on his former team.
The former midfielder was sacked by the club in February 2015 after a number of seasons fighting relegation in the Premier League.
Now, he takes on Steve Bruce’s men in the Championship as he provided this update on Cavaleiro.
“Cavaleiro had a little problem with his knee but he’s trained now so hopefully he’ll be okay and available for this weekend,” Lambert told the Express and Star.
“Prince wasn’t well, he had a bug and didn’t travel with. He’s back in with us today (Tuesday) but still wasn’t up to speed, he had a viral problem.”
Cavaleiro joined Wolves during the summer for a club-record fee of £7million from Portuguese giants Benfica.
He has scored four goals and provided the same number of assists in 20 Championship games this season, including scoring three goals and supplying two assists in his last six league games.
Lambert’s side have conceded eight goals in their last three home matches, while Villa have picked up just two away wins this term.
While Wolves progressed through to the next round of the FA Cup, Villa were comfortably knocked out by Premier League title chasers Tottenham at the weekend who inflicted a 2-0 defeat on the Midlands side.
The home team are six points behind their weekend opponents in the table as the duo shared the spoils during the reverse fixture in October.
In other Wolves team news, this defender has signed after the club agreed terms.
