Coutinho scored another stunning goal after 25 minutes and posted the image of him celebrating with Barcelona forward and compatriot, Neymar.

According to Sport newspaper, the 24 year-old is now Barcelona’s top transfer target and he was splashed all over their front page following his latest performance for Brazil.

In a report for Sky Sports, Neymar voiced his desire to play alongside the Liverpool star earlier this season so the image of the duo sparked concern among fans on Twitter.

Coutinho has scored five goals in the Premier League already this season and has notched up a further five assists to help his side reach the top of the table.

His form has matched that of teammate Roberto Firmino who also featured as a substitute cameo for the Brazilians on Thursday evening and has been impressive for Liverpool.

Coutinho joined the Reds for just £8.5 million in January 2013 and has gone on to make 118 appearances for the Reds in the league and has been named the club’s Player of the Season for the last two successive campaigns.
