New Tottenham signing Moussa Sissoko could be in line to make his debut for the club against Stoke on Saturday, according to a report.
ESPN have claimed that a club source has told them that Erik Lamela won’t return from international duty with Argentina until Thursday, leaving him with one training session on Friday with the side before the clash at the Bet365 Stadium.
Lamela has been named in Argentina’s starting eleven which will face Venezuela on Wednesday, 12.30am BST. He replaces star Lionel Messi who picked up a groin strain in last week’s 1-0 win over Uruguay.
This means that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino may opt to pick the £30million signing from Newcastle over Lamela, who could be jaded from jetlag.
Sissoko’s only match time in the new campaign has came for France, where he played half an hour against Italy on Thursday. He has also been named in his national side’s starting lineup against Belarus on Tuesday, meaning he could have 120 minutes of game time under his belt before Saturday’s match.
Pochettino also has new signing Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and Son Heung-Min to take up the attacking midfield trio spots alongside Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli.
In other Tottenham team news, Spurs fans have reacted on Twitter to Christian Eriksen signing a new four-year deal.
