Brendan Rodgers hinted it might not be long before Karamoko Dembele makes his first-team debut for Celtic and football fans reacted with amusement on Twitter.
The 13-year-old has been in the headlines this season after he made his debut for the Celtic Under-20s squad, playing seven years above his age group.
Dembele is currently in the midst of an international tug of war after he made his England Under-15s bow just weeks after performing for Scotland Under-17s.
Fans have been astonished by his quick rise to fame and there were some concerns when Rodgers revealed “it won’t be long” when Dembele breaks into the first team, though many found the claim amusing.
“We hope in the next number of years he could be the next one coming through,” Rodgers told TalkSPORT.
“But it won’t be long. If he keeps going the way he is going, he could be one of those boys who is in the team at a very young age.”

that Karamoko Dembele must be some player if Brendan Rodgers is saying he's gonna make his senior debut soon when he's 13?

Dembele has been linked with a move away from Celtic Park this season and a number of Premier League giants have voiced their interest, including Chelsea and Manchester City.
The youngster is a versatile midfielder who has been praised for his attacking intent and his ability to play on either wide, often working on the right-hand side.
Rodgers is well-known for his ability to produce young players and has shown in the past he is willing to hand debuts to academy stars, including a number of youngsters during his time at Liverpool.
