Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed Joleon Lescott, Scott Sinclair and Carlos Sanchez may leave Aston Villa this summer.

The Villa manager revealed the club are weighing up bids for Sinclair and Sanchez and that Lescott has been told he can find another club.

Di Matteo said on Friday, as quoted by the official Villa Twitter account, that Celtic have made an approach for winger Sinclair and the club are considering their offer.

The Italian has also confirmed Serie A outfit Fiorentina are interested in bringing midfielder Sanchez to Italy and Lescott can quit if he finds a new employer.

Here is the confirmation from the club’s official Twitter account.

Lescott, 33, signed from Midland rivals West Brom last summer for a fee of £1.5 million, but endured a nightmare season with the club.

It was reported by the Telegraph on Thursday evening that Lescott was told by the club he can leave on a free transfer even though a year is still remaining on his contract, with Championship rivals Leeds considering a move.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is desperate to set up a second reunion with Sinclair after working with him at Chelsea and Swansea.

Villa conceded 76 goals last season which resulted in their inventible relegation to the second-tier of English football.

Supporters blamed the likes of Sanchez and Lescott for their woeful performances as they witnessed only three wins all season.

In other Aston Villa transfer news, the club’s academy graduate has moved out on loan.
