Roberto Di Matteo has revealed Jack Grealish, Ross McCormack and Ritchie De Laet are injury worries for Aston Villa ahead of their trip to Ipswich on Saturday.
Villa manager Di Matteo confirmed that Grealish missed his side’s 1-1 draw with Brentford on Wednesday night with a hamstring injury.
Striker McCormack and right-back De Laet were both subbed off by Di Matteo with injury worries, as the Italian revealed they are concerns for the weekend trip to Portman Road.
“Jack has a problem with his hamstring so he couldn’t make it for the game,” said Di Matteo as quoted by the Birmingham Mail. “Ross got a knock on his knee and we had to take him off at half-time. We will have to assess him.
“Ritchie is feeling a bit of pain right now. By clearing the ball on the far post he clattered into the other player.
“We will have to see what the scan says.”
Scotland international McCormack was taken off at half-time for left-back Jordan Amavi, while De Laet was replaced by Leandro Bacuna after the hour mark.
The Midlands side threw away another three points at Villa Park on Wednesday evening as John Egan’s 88 minute goal cancelled out Jonathan Kodjia’s wonder strike in the first-half.
Di Matteo’s side now travel to Ipswich on Saturday afternoon having drawn four out of their five previous Championship games, as they sit in 17th with seven points after seven games.
