Victor Wanyama has sent a Twitter message to Tottenham fans ahead of their clash against Leicester City on Thursday night – and fans on Twitter want him to score.

The 25-year-old opened the scoring for his side when they beat Manchester United 2-1 during their last league fixture.

That Premier League encounter was the club’s final match to be played at White Hart Lane, with Wanyama’s towering header and Harry Kane’s strike being the difference.

One fan urged Wanyama to put in another Man of the Match display against the Foxes as Spurs aim to finish the season on a high.

Another jokingly asked him ‘do you want to leave aswell’ after speculation mounts on the future of Tottenham trio Kyle Walker, Danny Rose and Eric Dier.

But, other fans were more positive as they were wishing him luck for the match and hoping he can put in a good performance for his team.

Wanyama has been selected to start the clash against the Foxes, with his midfield partner Mousa Dembele returning to the starting XI.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Over the course of the season, Wanyama has played 45 matches in all competitions for his North London club, scoring four goals and picking up 12 yellow cards.

In the Premier League, he has played 34 matches as the powerful player has been a key figure for Pochettino since his summer move from Southampton.
