Liverpool and Wolves target Anderson Talisca has completed a transfer to Turkish giants Besiktas, it was confirmed on Monday evening.

The Express, citing O Jogo, claimed that Talisca had been all set to sign for Liverpool after the FA received a work permit application for the 22-year-old.

However, Besiktas have announced on their official Twitter account the arrival of the highly-rated attacking midfielder.

The Brazilain was also part of a transfer saga involving Championship side Wolves.

The Sun claimed that the newly-rich Midlands club were rivalling Liverpool in the £21million race to land the former Benfica playmaker.

However, it would appear that the move was a bit too ambitious, partly due to red tape issues, and the player has chosen Champions League football over the two English sides.

Talisca starred in 34 encounters for Benfica last season in all competitions scoring nine goals and helping his side to a league and cup double.

However, Liverpool are not short of attacking midfielders and the Reds have also added Georginio Wijnaldum to their squad from recently relegated Newcastle for a £23million fee this summer.

Jurgen Klopp has added six players to his squad in his first summer transfer window in charge of the Anfield club totaling almost £62million.

The German manager made his last two signings in July with Wijnaldum and goalkeeper Alex Manninger and the former Borussia Dortmund tactician could be content with his squad as it stands.

In other Liverpool transfer news, the Reds are looking to send Mamadou Sakho out on loan to help the centre-back regain form and fitness.
