Eric Dier is confident that Tottenham can continue to improve after drawing with Arsenal in an enthralling end-to-end match.

Austria international Kevin Wimmer’s own goal threatened to give Tottenham’s North London rivals a 1-0 win, before Mousa Dembele was bundled over in the penalty area by Laurent Koscielny to allow Harry Kane to convert from the spot.

Speaking on his personal Instagram account, Dier revealed that his side will keep improving but was happy with the performance after losing 1-0 to Bayer Leverkusen earlier in the week.

Good performance today after a tough week, we'll keep improving, fantastic travelling support as always👌🏼

The former Sporting Lisbon star reverted to his usual slot in Mauricio Pochettino’s side in front of Spurs’ back four alongside Victor Wanyama, after a shaky spell at centre-back.

But England international Dier put that to one side to star for Spurs as their defensive rearguard prevented the Gunners from taking all three points at the Emirates.

The draw means Arsenal are unable to gain any ground on Tottenham and their other Premier League title rivals, but are now five points adrift of league leaders Liverpool after a dismal run of form.

Dier and co. have failed to win in seven league and cup encounters, but will be looking to put that right on Saturday 19 when they host West Ham at White Hart Lane after the international break.

In other Tottenham news, Kane has posted this message after returning from injury to score against Arsenal.
