Everton have been linked with Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin – and fans on Twitter believe he would be an excellent addition to the side.
The Sun previously claimed that Toffees manager Ronald Koeman has made the 27-year-old “one of his top priorities for the January window and contact has been made between the clubs”.
They also claim Man United have slapped a £25million price tag on him.
Now, Bleacher Report correspondent Dean Jones has revealed on his personal Twitter account that both Watford and West Brom are also keen on Schneiderlin.
As a result fans have urged the club to move decisively to snap up the highly-rated player as he would bring a much-needed steel to the middle of the park.
Koeman currently has Gareth Barry, James McCarthy and Idrissa Gueye as his defensive-minded players – the latter a summer signing and arguably their best player this term.
Nonetheless, the Goodison Park faithful believe Schneiderlin would build a good partnership with former Aston Villa man Gueye.
One fan did point out that with McCarthy set to be sidelined for up to four weeks, then the signing of Schneiderlin becomes even more pivotal.
While another supporter stated that the Frenchman will pick Everton ahead of West Brom, as the Merseyside club are a more attractive proposition.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
France international Schneiderlin moved to Old Trafford from St Mary’s during the summer of 2015 for a fee of £25million.
Dutchman Koeman, who took over the reigns at Everton via the same club in the summer, worked under Schneiderlin in the south coast and regarded him as one of the best midfielders in the division.
Schneiderlin has only played 11 minutes of Premier League football this season under manager Jose Mourinho as his time at Old Trafford seems to be heading towards an end.
In other Everton transfer news, odds have been slashed as the Toffees are favourites to sign this £20 million- rated defender.
