Ross Barkley has been named in the starting line-up against Bournemouth – and the club’s supporters were not happy with the decision on Twitter.

The midfielder has retained his place in the side after playing 90 minutes in the 2-0 defeat to Norwich in the EFL Cup.

Everton announced their line up on their official Twitter account and manager Ronald Koeman has made six changes.

The 22-year-old has been inconsistent at the beginning of the season and has scored two goals in the club’s first seven fixtures.

Everton fans are not pleased with Barkley’s overall performances in recent matches and he is under pressure to deliver.

The club’s supporters have taken to Twitter to voice their concern over his selection and some fans claim he should have been dropped.

Everton have been in impressive league form and currently sit second in the table with 13 points, after an unbeaten start.

Idrissa Gueye and Romelu Lukaku have been a couple of the players to stand out for the Toffees but Barkley has been nowhere near his top form.

He has made 127 senior appearances at Goodison Park since gradating through the club’s academy and has scored 23 goals.

The attacking midfielder will hope to have a positive impact against Bournemouth and prove his worth to the fans.
