Moussa Sissoko put in a poor display for Tottenham on Wednesday evening – and Everton fans stated on Twitter that their club dodge a bullet.
The France international played the full 90 minutes during Spurs’ 1-0 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League at Wembley.
However, he may not have even featured in the match following a deadline day tug-of-war between Tottenham and the Toffees for the then Newcastle attacker.
He ended up agreeing a £30million move to White Hart Lane over Ronald Koeman’s side with a deal being completed at the last minute and he has even opened up about his move earlier in the week, stating that he chose Tottenham because they were a bigger club.
Now following his poor performance for the north London side, which was shown on BT Sport, Everton fans have spoken back on social media, expressing their delight that he didn’t join their side.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Enjoying seeing all the moaning spurs fans abusing Sissoko. 35 million well avoided in the summer! #efc

Signing a five-year deal with Mauricio Pochettino’s side Sissoko has unimpressed in the early stages of his Tottenham career.
The attacker has featured in 10 encounters for the club without a return of a goal or an assist, while also receiving a three-match ban for elbowing Harry Arter in the face during his side’s clash against Bournemouth.
