Every Tottenham player thinks Mousa Dembele is the team’s outstanding player, according to a report.

The Guardian claim the Spurs stars give the same answer every time when asked who is the best player at the club: Dembele.

It is reported that when Vincent Janssen was asked it recently, he went for Dembele and the summer signing added that it was also because he was the best player he had ever faced.

Asked to comment on the Belgium international’s man-of-the-match performance in Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Arsenal, manager Mauricio Pochettino replied: “Dembele is a genius”.

Spurs came from a goal down against their north London rivals in the Premier League, with Harry Kane’s second-half penalty cancelling out an own goal from team-mate Kevin Wimmer after Dembele’s driving run had ended with Laurent Koscielny fouling him in the box.

The result means that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are still the only unbeaten team in the division and they are currently fifth-placed, five points adrift of league leaders Liverpool.

Sky Sports pundit Wilkins has highlighted the performance of Spurs’ midfielder Dembele against the Gunners as he ranked the team’s display as an A grade.

“I thought Tottenham were equally as good (as Arsenal),” Wilkins wrote on Sky Sports. “They had a couple of setbacks obviously with Dele Alli, while Toby Alderweireld was not there. Harry Kane coming back looked a little bit off the pace, but I will give them an ‘A’ as they played some wonderful football, with Mousa Dembele the best player on the pitch.”

Arsenal dropped into fourth place in the league despite having an opportunity to move to the top of the table.

Pochettino’s side next face West Ham at White Hart Lane on 19 November.
