Celtic defender Erik Sviatchenko has taken to Twitter to reveal a handwritten request from a fan on his postal delivery that he scores a hat-trick in Saturday’s Old Firm derby.

The 24-year-old has been impressive form for Brendan Rodgers side this season, making four appearances and starring in the 4-1 demolition of Aberdeen prior to the international break.

The Denmark international revealed via his personal Twitter account that a fan had used his initiative to make the unlikely request after delivering his parcel.

The Hoops face their Old Firm enemies for the first time in the league for four years, following the Gers administration that saw their Glasgow rivals drop to the fourth tier of Scottish football.

Sviatchenko is not known for his goalscoring prowess, finding the back of the net just 11 times during his professional career. Only one of those has been for the Scottish Champions, but it did come against their Old Firm enemies in last season’s dramatic Scottish Cup semi-final.

The former FC Midtjylland stopper was signed for the Hoops in January for £1.5million by former manager Ronny Deila, and has made an impressive start to his time in Glasgow.

Celtic’s number 28 has already worn the armband for the 47-time Scottish Premiership champions, and is set to partner new veteran signing Kolo Toure in the heart of the defence as Celtic welcome Mark Warburton’s side to Parkhead.

Brendan Rodgers’ side can extend their lead at the top of the table to four points if results go their way, but a loss could see the Gers leapfrog them into first place.

In other Celtic news, four summer signing are expected to start against Rangers.
