Joey Barton returns to Burnley having managed to lose himself at #Rangers for a few months. Hope he picks up the accent again soon …

Massive for Joey Barton to be rejoining Burnley! They'll be hoping he makes his mark on the pitch, not off it!

Hope Barton will just be a back-up, not sure he can cut it in the PL. Still needing a CM with pace and a striker in January #twitterclarets

It was no surprise that Celtic fans mocked the player for re-joining the English club, following his infamous stint at their Old Firm rivals.
Additionally, another fan was looking forward to Barton’s battle with Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, after the duo clashed while the pair were playing in Ligue 1.
Jose Mourinho’s men will travel to Turf Moor on April 22, having already played the first fixture at Old Trafford which finished goalless.
Barton joined the Gers on a free transfer after leaving Sean Dyche’s side after their promotion from the Championship.
The former Manchester City player played eight games in all competitions for Mark Warburton’s side before being axed from the first-team over an alleged training ground incident after the 5-1 defeat to Celtic in September.
Now he re-joins a Burnley team looking to stay in the top-flight, with Dyche’s side 16th in the table on 17 points from 17 games.
Prior to playing in Scotland, Barton made 40 appearances for the clarets in the Championship, scoring three goals and providing the same number of assists.
In other Rangers news, the Gers should sign this Aston Villa record breaker to close the gap on their rivals.
