Mesut Ozil was named the Champions League player of the week following his performance against Ludogorets last Tuesday night – and Arsenal fans have reacted with delight on Twitter.
The German scored a sensational individual goal as Arsenal defeated the Bulgarian side 3-2 following his 88th minute winner.
Strikes from Granit Xhaka and Olivier Giroud brought Arsenal back level after they conceded two early first half goals from Jonathan Cafu and Claudiu Keseru.

Ozil wasn’t able to reproduce his heroics on Sunday afternoon as Arsenal had to settle for a disappointing 1-1 draw against Tottenham at the Emirates.
Arsenal are unbeaten in all of their European games this season but could not maintain their top form in the Premier League and missed an opportunity to move to the top of the table after Manchester City drew 1-1 with Middlesbrough.
So far this season, Ozil has made 17 appearances in all competitions and has netted seven goals. He is currently Arsenal’s third highest goal-scorer, behind Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez who both have eight goals this season.
