Ex-Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini is currently undergoing a medical with London rivals Crystal Palace, according to Sky Sports.
The 32-year-old is available on a free transfer following his release from the Emirates this summer, with a number of clubs keeping tabs on the France international such as Leeds, Olympiakos, Torino and Roma.
However, Sky Sports have revealed via their official Twitter account that the former AC Milan star is currently in London undergoing a medical ahead of a move to Alan Pardew’s side.
Pardew has been interested in bringing a central midfielder to Selhurst Park after allowing Australia captain Mile Jedinak to join Aston Villa for £4million.
Palace were one of many clubs credited with an interest in Everton midfielder James McCarthy as well as Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere, but moves fell through and this has resulted in Pardew targeting the free agent market following the close of the transfer window at the end of August.
The former Marseille man signed for The Gunners in 2004, before joining AC Milan four years later. After five years in Italy, Flamini rejoined Arsene Wenger’s side in 2013 for a second spell.
In total, Flamini spent seven years at Arsenal and made 242 first-team appearances.
In other Arsenal transfer news, this Premier League boss has been targeted as Arsene Wenger’s long-term replacement.
