Eddie Nketiah continued his impressive scoring form for the Arsenal youth sides last night – and Gunners fans on Twitter believe he can be a future star at the club.

The 17-year-old scored a hat-trick for the club’s Under-23s during a 3-0 victory over Leciester in the Premier League Two.

The goals marked his first at Under-23 level, but his total for this season stands at 14 strikes from 16 appearances.

He also finished as the top scorer for the club’s Under-18’s team in the last campaign with 24 goals in 28 fixtures.

The striker’s high scoring rate has got many Gunners supporters excited on social media with many claiming he is the future of the club.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Nketiah made the switch to the Arsenal academy from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer of 2015.

He was released from the Blues’ youth system, but they may now rue their decision given his performances for the Gunners.

However, despite his impressive scoring form he does face fierce competition in the Arsenal youth ranks for the forward position.

Chris Willock, 18, has made two substitute appearances for the Gunners senior team in the EFL Cup this season.

Additionally, Stephy Mavididi, Donyell Malen and Josh Dasilva are also looking to make the step up to Arsene Wenger’s side.
