Danny Gabbidon has backed “unplayable” Yannick Bolasie to be a big hit at Everton under Ronald Koeman.

The winger, 27, is set to undergo an Everton medical on Wednesday as he puts the finishing touches to a move from Crystal Palace.

Sky Sports revealed on Tuesday evening that the Merseysiders had agreed a stunning £30million deal with Palace for Bolasie.

The speed of the deal has caught Everton fans by surprise and ex-Palace defender Gabbidon was quizzed on Twitter on Tuesday by a Toffees supporter about the player his team are getting.

“At times he’s unplayable and has now added more consistency,” former Wales international Gabbidon said on his personal Twitter account. “With the manager you have could do very well. Top lad, also.”

The Bolasie fee is set to break the current Goodison transfer record, which is the £28million they spent to prise Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea in the summer of 2014.

The winger joined Palace from Bristol City in the summer of 2012 and has made 143 appearances for the Premier League club, scoring 13 goals and supplying 30 assists during his spell with the Eagles.

In more Everton transfer news, the club are closing in on a £60million triple deal.
