Gareth Bale has praised Joe Allen for his performances at Euro 2016 and is convinced the 26-year-old will have an incredible career whether or not he leaves Liverpool this summer.
The Wales central midfielder has admitted he could leave Anfield after the club failed to offer him an extension to his contract, which expires in a year’s time.
As reported by Football Insider, Swansea have had an £8million bid rejected for the Liverpool player as the Merseysiders hold out for £10million.
Allen’s stock has risen during the tournament as he has been an integral player of the Wales team that topped their group ahead of England to reach the knockout stages.
This comes after a series of impressive displays for Liverpool in the second half of the 2015-16 season.
“I can’t really speak highly enough of him,” Bale told the Guardian. “I think he does the dirty work that maybe goes unnoticed. But for us, we know how vitally important he is and how amazing he’s played.
““In the squad we appreciate him very much. Maybe he doesn’t get the headlines outside, but in the squad he gets them. He works his socks off every game and I’m sure he’ll go on to do incredible things in his career.”
The midfielder has scored just seven times in 129 games for Liverpool and it remains unclear what role he might have under Klopp but his energy and neat passing have won admirers from across Europe.
It has been reported that Celtic, Leicester, Stoke, Bournemouth and Sevilla are also keen to secure the 26-year-old services ahead of the new season.
In other Liverpool transfer news, the Merseysiders will make concerted efforts to wrap up another big-money deal in the next seven days.
