Glenn Hoddle paid tribute to Delle Alli as a “wonderful talent” after he scored a stunner on his full England debut.
The Tottenham midfielder marked his first international start with an outstanding display that earned the man-of-the-match award from former England manager Hoddle.
Alli’s tackle-and-stunner combination put England 1-0 up after 39 minutes, with skipper Wayne Rooney adding a second early in the second half as the home side ran out convincing 2-0 winners.
“In and around the penalty area, he has that calmness about him, he really has,” observed former England and Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle. “We’ve seen it in a Tottenham shirt and now we’ve seen it in an England shirt.
“He’s a wonderful talent who can only get better. For his work-rate, energy and great goal, I make him man-of-the-match.”
