Graham Roberts has praised Dele Alli for his performance in Tottenham’s 4-0 victory over Stoke on Saturday.

The former Spurs defender applauded the youngster and made the claim that it was the best display of the season from the 20-year-old.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side earned a comfortable victory at the Britannia Stadium with Alli adding the third goal alongside a double from Son Heung-Min and a Harry Kane strike.

Former Tottenham defender Roberts took to his personal Twitter account on Saturday night to praise the Tottenham midfielder, stating that it was the best display he had seen from the 2015-16 PFA Young Player of the Year in the new campaign.

Alli moved to White Hart Lane in a £5million move from League One side MK Dons in the 2015 winter window.

He was sent back on loan to Stadium MK for the remainder of the 2014-15 season before making his debut for Tottenham in their season opener against Manchester United last campaign.

Alli soon became a key player in Spurs’ attacking lineup and featured in 46 encounters for his side in all competitions scoring 10 goals and providing 11 assists in his debut season.

The 13-time capped England international bagged his first goal of the new campaign against Stoke as Tottenham look to be a force in both the Premier League and the Champions League this season.
