Leeds were two goals to the good at half time, after top scorer Chris Wood and versatile attacker Souleymane Doukara found the back of the net.
With Rotherham down to 10 men following a red card to striker Peter Odemwingie, the game seemed to be out of sight for Garry Monk’s men.
However, a late onslaught from Kenny Jackett’s side saw Richard Wood grab a goal to give Monk’s side a nervy last 10 minutes.
