Harry Kane identified the importance of winning early on in the season, as he praised Victor Wanyama on his first goal for Tottenham against Crystal Palace.
Spurs picked up their first win of the season at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon, with Wanyama heading home with eight minutes to go on the clock.
Kane failed to find the net for the second time this season, but praised the team for their 1-0 victory against a tough Alan Pardew side.
“Great win today!” Kane wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Important to win early on in the season. Well done Victor Wanyama on your first goal.”

Wanyama completed an £11 million transfer from Premier League rivals Southampton earlier on in the summer, with the Kenyan penning a five-year contract.
The 25-year-old defensive midfielder kept his first clean sheet with the north London club, as he looks to build a solid partnership alongside teammate Eric Dier.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side drew 1-1 with Everton in the opening week of the Premier League campaign, as Spurs look to add to their success of last season.
