Harry Redknapp believes that Arsenal attacker Alexis Sanchez is perfectly suited to torment the Manchester City defence.

The 27-year-old has been in fantastic form this season and is one of the in-form players in the Premier League.

The Gunners travel to the Etihad on Sunday for a league clash and will be looking to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat against Everton, which saw Liverpool leapfrog them into second in the table during the week.

Man City achieved a regulation 2-0 home victory against Watford, but suffered defeats to Leicester and Chelsea prior to that game.

Manager Pep Guardiola has come under criticism this season for his varied defensive set-ups and they have kept just three clean sheets in the opening 16 league games.

Ex-Tottenham manager Redknapp claims that Arsenal can trouble Man City and feels that Sanchez will have a huge role to play because of his style.

“Arsenal should press them high and Alexis Sanchez is perfectly suited to that given his work-rate and pace,” Redknapp wrote in the Evening Standard. “Sanchez will hassle City’s defenders so they will have a big problem.”

Sanchez has been transformed this campaign into a centre forward by manager Arsene Wenger after spending the majority of his career as a left winger.

The Chile international has been in great form in front of goal and is the Premier League’s joint-top goalscorer alongside Chelsea’s Diego Costa with 12 goals.

He has been the focal point of the Gunners attack and has troubled defenders with his tenacious pressure and high work-rate.

Sanchez will certainly look to capitalise on the Man City defence at the weekend, who like to have time in possession and to pass the ball at the back.

The forward is currently in his best form since he moved to the Emirates, scoring 14 goals and supplying 11 assists in 22 games across all competitions.
