Diego Costa could be rested by Chelsea this week ahead of their Champions League showdown against Paris Saint-Germain.

Guus Hiddink admitted at his media briefing on Monday that he is considering giving a breather to the spearhead of his team's attack in one of their two Premier League matches in the coming days.

Chelsea travel to Norwich on Tuesday before hosting Stoke at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Premier League champions then have three days' rest before the pivotal second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against PSG.

Hiddink's side are hoping to overturn a 2-1 deficit from the first leg in Paris two weeks ago.

Costa has been a virtual ever-present for Chelsea this season after overcoming the hamstring problems that disrupted his first campaign at Stamford Bridge.

Asked if he could be rested ahead of the PSG match, Hiddink said: "Yes, 'it's a possibility."
