Rangers completed the signing of young forward Alfredo Morelos on Monday from HJK Helsinki – and the club’s supporters were thrilled with the announcement on Twitter.

The Gers confirmed on their official website that the 20-year-old has agreed a three-year deal at Ibrox.

He has left behind Finish top-flight club HJK after a successful spell there and becomes the first Colombian to play for Rangers.

The Colombia Under-20 international will be tasked with filling the boots of Joe Garner in attack, who recently completed a move to Championship club Ipswich in England.

He has become the sixth signing of the summer already as Pedro Caixinha’s shake-up continues to pick up speed.

Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Dalcio, Fabio Cardoso and Daniel Candeias are the other five players to have already joinied this summer.

The Gers fans has expressed their delight at the capture of Morelos

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Morelos arrives with a big expectation after his goalscoring record at HJK.

The striker was in great form last season for them and managed 20 goals in just 25 appearances across all competitions, including four in Europa League qualifiers.

He has emerged as an exciting talent in European football after his time in Finland and will now get the opportunity to prove himself in Scotland.
