Ian Holloway has predicted Leeds to beat Barnsley 2-1 on Saturday afternoon and backed striker Chris Wood to be amongst the goalscorers.
Garry Monk’s side host their Yorkshire rivals at the weekend, after losing their Tuesday night fixture to Bristol City 1-0.
In contrast, Paul Heckingbottom’s men scored a last-minute goal in midweek, when Sam Winnall headed home from a corner to rescue a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa.
Sky Sports pundit Holloway believes the Whites will have the “edge” in the local derby and backed Leeds to register their fifth win of the campaign.
“Leeds have turned the corner, while controversy has dogged Barnsley this week, so I think the hosts will have the impetus in this local derby,” Holloway wrote on his Sky Sports column.
“It’s a magnificent game and one I think Leeds will edge, with Chris Wood to get one of the goals.”
Monk’s side have picked up 13 points from their opening ten games, as they sit in 14th, with four wins, one draw and five losses to their name.
Their opponents at the weekend are tenth in the Championship table, with five wins, one draw and four losses after gaining promotion via the play-offs last season.
