Ian Holloway has backed Leeds to pick up another home victory when they welcome Wigan to Elland Road on Tuesday night.

Sky Sports pundit Holloway has hailed Leeds manager Garry Monk for making supporters believe, as he predicts a 1-0 win for the Yorkshire side.

The Whites tasted defeat last time out when Steve McClaren’s side recorded a 1-0 victory on Saturday afternoon at the iPro stadium.

But former Blackpool boss Holloway has backed Monk’s men to record their fourth win on the bounce at Elland Road this season.

“This is a very difficult game to call as Wigan are a tough team to break down,” Holloway wrote in his Sky Sports column. “Despite not winning in a while, they’ve only conceded three goals in their last five matches.

“However, Garry Monk is starting to make people believe at Elland Road and three straight home wins show that. I think they’ll make it four on the spin.”

Leeds have had mixed fortunes in the league in their last five games, with three victories and two defeats.

But the Yorkshire club have not been beaten at home since September 10 when high-flying Huddersfield picked up a 1-0 win.

As a result Monk’s side are 13th in the league, with 16 points from 12 games. Their opponents Wigan are struggling in the relegation zone with ten points.
